The Pennsylvania Room is a treasure trove for genealogists searching for their ancestors. Many of the items in the room cannot be found anywhere else.  The room has an index to deaths found in the local newspapers from the early 19th century (when the papers exist) through 1950. The newspapers found on microfilm include The Genius of Liberty which has not been digitized, Morning Herald and The Evening Standard. Other items include local family histories, tax rolls through about 1870, family vertical files, old maps, etc. Please visit the library to use their extensive collection. It is also within walking distance of the county courthouse.
